I'm glad I came from Idaho

This week has been great. Thanksgiving wasn't like home, but that didn't bother me.
my companions are great. We all work hard and try our best.
There is one particular thing that made me proud to be from Emmett.
Because of Thanksgiving two of our district's normal teachers are not here, and we have had substitutes. One of the Substitutes has served here for a comparatively long time, and for quite a while as a "state side" instructor. That means that he has seen a lot of missionaries come and go. When I said I was from Emmett, he stopped me and said "there are a lot of Mormons there aren't there". I said yes, and asked how he knew. He answered by saying that he had seen a lot of missionaries come from Emmett. He couldn't remember any names of course, but I was struck that he would remember hearing of Emmett.
No one here knows where Emmett Idaho is. Not unless their from Boise or something. No one does.
I think that if we are known only for the fact that we send out missionaries, and that they work hard, then we are in good shape. How cool it is that we are! I hope that I leave behind that same legacy here and in the mission field. I hope that I can impress the people that I serve with the work ethic and the diligence of Idaho Missionaries, and that no one remembers my name.  If there ever was a cause in all the world more worthy of all of our sweat, and all of our effort, and all of our heart, and mind, then I do not know it. I am so pleased to be doing this work. I love to do it. I love to lay down at night knowing that I worked hard all day for God's work, I love it. I love to put my faults before Him, and I love asking Him to help me. I would be utterly lost if I could not, or to receive His answers.
Speaking of Idaho Missionaries. I have been in touch with three other missionaries from Emmett. Sister Kelsey Donohue and Elder Rashe Elliot left early this week for their missions. Sister Mia Davis will leave Monday morning.
I love this work, I love the MTC, I love God.

Love to all,
Elder Bevan
