The New Transfer!

This week was great, my new companion came! His name is Elder Clinger.
He is just about as tall as I am and a whole lot more buff. He is a
ninth-transfer missionary. He grew up on a small farm in Utah, and we
all make fun of him because he grew up on a dairy farm.
This week started off great! We had an open house for the church on
Saturday, and had at least 12 nonmembers show up. There were at least
three families (or at least mothers with children), there were not a
lot of members, so the member to nonmember ratio was great! We made
ice cream and give tours of the church. The branch president got a lot
of pictures but I still don't have them so maybe next week. Anyways,
it was a lot of fun and I'm glad we did it. We are still working on
finding new investigators. As Zone leaders we need to plan for this
transfer and how we are going to help our zone. We have to spend a lot
of time inside and neither of us like it. But, I guess it has to be
done :-(

Talking about transfers

Today is transfer call day. We heard how the zone will be, and then
they they will hear later on personally where they will be going and
who their new companions are.

I am trying out dictation on my iPad and it's working well so far. I
hope I'll be able to type a lot more now. I am sure you are happy Mom

On Sunday we went with a member from Nagasaki Branch (Brother Ohira),
up to the top of Inasayama. We got a lot of good pictures, and we
talked to a lot of foreigners. :-)

Working Hard

I love working hard! I get to do exactly that when I go on splits with
missionaries in our zone! Furthermore I love 長崎!
We went on two splits this week. One to an area just north of here, by
sonic train only about twenty minutes, and then split with the two
elders in our apartment. we worked hard and found two new
investigators, and did lots of good work. We leave tonight for
another.
We have also needed to go to a few special trainings on iPads and this
week we have another on Wednesday to help us apply ourselves to the
work and not get distracted. We do a lot of finding in this mission.
It is good, but it is hard to see the results of our efforts
sometimes. Because I know that God loves us, I believe that one day we
will be able to meet all the people that we helped, and who are
grateful for what we have done for them. That will be a good day.
For now though, I am trying to focus on how we can improve our
effectiveness in doing the work that we are striving to do. "How can
we help others come to Christ more effectively?" Is on my mind.
I love this work this is The resurrected Jesus Christ's true church.
Thanks to all, Elder Bevan
